Essay assignment

      I think that we, the United States of America, are similar to Rome because we are also a multiethnic nation as well and are faced with numerous challenges within our states, just like the Romans are. Our nation leaders have also been known to have the same thoughts, ides, and even behaviors as our former president Bush. In the book " Are We Rome" it compares president Bush to Roman leader Diocletian, This Roman leader was known for feeding Christians to the lions. To compare Bush to that last sentence, Bush's behavior was just like emperor Diocletian's when a hurricane hit and no emotion or hardly any sympathy was crossed over Bush. He never seen any goods nor help, as if he were feeding the Christians to the lions, They we innocent and helpless people who had nothing to their name, but bush hardly showed a passion.
      To answer the question of "do I think the United States will eventually fall as Rome had" , then my answer would be yes. My explanation for this would be our countries ignorance. AT one point in time our nation was one of the strongest there was. But in this present day we just put ourselves at risk in some kind of way. We should have done as Rome had and left Iraq alone. There was a reason Rome had left them untouched and I think we should have done the same. Maybe we would have peace in the U.S by now. Isn't that what we have wanted all along? I believe that if we had never started a war with Iraq then we wouldn't have this many terrorist attacks in America today. And 911 may not have ever happened. But terrorist are my number one reasoning as to why I think that one day the U.S will fall. There is something on the news everyday, including this morning. The news topic this morning was about not having enough security at the Olympics . They are afraid we are going to have terrorist attacks at the National Olympic Games.
           If, and when, our Nation does fall, we will have an all monarchy civilization. This thought has already passed through the minds of the past leaders, so I don't see why not. We will have one dictator that has complete power, and we will no longer be a free country. There is something bad happening everyday in the U.S making the U.S one step closer to crashing. Today there is so much gun violence, but without guns, where is our Protection? But that is a whole different topic, for a whole different paper. And when this happens, is when our so called free country will come to an end.
